Not far from Kemer, approximately 12 kilometers to north of the city,on the mountains (650 m above sea level), a small village Gedelma has the ruins of the ancient Roman Kadrema (Gedelme) Castle.
Entrance to the Castle is closed due to its general condition. However, the Castle can still clearly could be seen among the bushes. Also Lycian Way passes through Gedelme and Gedelme has a cave depth of about 500 meters and a plane tree nearly 2.500 years old. Gedelme Castle was used as a warehouse that met the food needs of many ancient cities in the region.
Comfortably to get to the Gedelme is possible only by car with 1 hour route – to walk or to bike will be very difficult, as the road is quite steep and constantly goes uphill (steep climb up the hill – about 5 km). The entrance to the Gedelme is gratis.
