What Can You Do at Damlataş Beach in Alanya?

Damlataş Beach on the coast of Damlataş Cave, offers the perfect setting for relaxation by the sea. It’s the eastern part of the famous Cleopatra Beach and one of the most popular beaches in Alanya.

As part of Cleopatra Bay where, according to legend, Cleopatra bathed, Damlataş Beach, like its neighbor, has fine golden sand and crystal clear water.

It’s not surprising that diving and snorkeling are some of the most popular activities at Damlataş Beach. Equipped with diving goggles, you can wonderfully admire the different marine animals and the magnificent underwater world in Cleopatra Bay.

The 250 meter long sandy beach is about 100 meters wide. For this reason, you should not have much trouble finding a quiet spot on the beach.

Like Cleopatra Beach, Damlataş Beach has “Blue Flag” status, which confirms the good water quality of the bay.

On site there are sunbeds, umbrellas, and water sport activities for a fee. Near the beach there are also quite a few snack bars.

One of the most popular things to do at Damlataş Beach is tandem paragliding. If you are interested in this once-in-a-lifetime experience, then you are in the right place. There are vendors for tandem paragliding at Damlataş Beach / Cleopatra Beach.

Other popular attractions within walking distance include the aforementioned Cleopatra Beach, Alanya Castle west of the beach, and the Alanya Archaeology Museum.

The area is also a good place to explore the nightlife scene in the city. Alanya’s nightlife district close is to Kizil Kule and the harbor is within walking distance.

Alanya Cable Car

The Alanya Cable Car that goes to Alanya Castle is located on Damlataş Beach. The impressive ride to the Ehmedek area of Alanya Castle has become a very popular tourist attraction.

The cable car starts in the valley station on Damlataş Beach and takes you up to the medieval castle, which is located on a hill 250 meters above sea level.

During the cable car ride you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the beautiful landscape of Alanya. You can marvel at Damlataş and Cleopatra beaches, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, and the amazing mountain range. The journey takes about 5 minutes.

The Alanya Cable Car opened in 2017 and has a total line length of 900 meters. It consists of 16 panoramic cabins, each of which can accommodate 6 people. It operates daily from 09.30 am to 11.00 pm.

How to Get to Damlataş Beach?

Damlataş Beach is located west of Alanya, just off the coast of the stalactite cave with the same name. It borders Cleopatra Beach on the east and Alanya Castle on the west.

Public Transport & Taxi: Due to its central location, only 2 kilometers from the city center, Damlataş Beach can be easily reached by public transport. Bus lines 1, 40, and 50 stop near the beach. Taxis are also a good alternative.
From Antalya Airport: The beach is 120km away from the Antalya airport. Therefore, you might consider renting a car. Get more information on renting a car in Antalya. Alternatively, there are busses that go to Alanya.
